LHDN - Income Tax

It is the time of the year again where all Malaysian are busy filing up their income tax to the Income Revenue Board. It is pretty confusing when doing taxes as all this while I have someone to do it for me. The taxable income depends on the following;

1) A resident or non resident. Refer to this to get more details
http://www.um.edu.my/doc/File/administration/staff_benefits/incometaxlocal.pdf

2) The income you receive is from a service you working for a company in Malaysia or overseas.

As I have read from the article I found on Google, if you are a non resident and your income is obtain from overseas, then you are not taxable. If you are non-resident and your income are from a Malaysian company then you are taxable with a different rate compare to resident. If you are resident, well you can't escape to pay tax.

In addition, if you are non resident working at overseas and planning to buy a property, it is advise to do so while you are at overseas and non while you return back to Malaysia as resident this is to reduce the complexity of you having to explain the grandmother story to IRB. Got this from some forum.

As for those leaving Malaysia for work, please and please fill in CP21 form! I know some people did not do it but it is a must!

Makan Makan in Qatar - Arabic Ice Cream - Bohsali Al-Kasr

I read a review that there is a place selling very good Arabic ice cream and it is located not far from where I stay. So I try to google for it and found very little result telling me where it is. I did suspect a place where I use to go and buy Baklava but I didn't make the effort to actually verify whether the place sell ice cream because all I know is they only sell patisseries and I didn't know the shop's name

So as I sitting in my friends car I stretch my neck high up when I am about to pass by that shop again I saw the signboard and the shop name match the one on Google. I purposely stop and tell myself is something I must try.

Going into the shop, the feeling is the same as my previous visit, the boss sitting at the counter look fierce as usual. We greet him but he didn't reply and we went ahead to have a friendly chat with the staff. Over the counter, I could see there are about 6 different flavor and there is only 2 that capture my eyes which is the green and the brown color ice cream. They do have other colors like yellow, red and so on but I skip those because it looks like they use a lot of food coloring and very sweet just by looking at it. So I pick the Green one which is what I intended to at the first place. The green one are pistachios ice cream and the brown one is almond ice cream which is very sweet as what the staff told me.

My first bite.... WOW... the ice cream is full of flavor. Smooth and creamy texture. It has fragrant smell as the ice cream is filled with crushed pistachio. We ordered medium size which is the size of a cup of steam corn you purchase outside. On the top of the ice cream the staff added more crush pistachio and that just make everything perfect.
