Money Transfer - TT

For most Malaysian working overseas that frequently transfer their salary back to Malaysia, I think it is good to keep those money or reinvest in the country you reside now until Q2 2015 or somewhere May / June timeframe.

I have read several reports that oil price are predicted to drop until 40 per barrel and that means USD will continue to rise + several factor that is happening back in Malaysia such as outflow of cash are weakening RM.

My cents worth.

Women Hidden Stash

What I am about to write here are my personal opinion and views. It doesn't represent all women in the world but then I think it is good that it does.... :)

So what I am trying to say is WOMEN are very good in saving extra cash without anyone knows about it especially their husband or BF. You will never expect or ever think of that they have a secret stash and I believe every women has it even they are still single.

Those that I know does have a secret stash under their pillow and now the best part is they hid it very well. I know a girl, well women by now always travel overseas, have upper class meal and luxury item yet still have a big stash hidden under her bed..and YET everyday they complain NO MONEY!

Women are seriously hard to understand and very secretive even they say they love the other half very much. Trust me they always have a little secret that all men are not aware about.

Drive Thru ATM - With Enhance Security

With the recent news that I keep reading on FB where it is so often that people got rob when they are withdrawing money from the ATM. Mainly this happen it developing and poor country.

While I am at Qatar, I notice that Qatar's banks offer drive thru ATM that are scattered mostly at petrol station. This is pretty  a surprise for me as if these ATM were located openly in a petrol station I am pretty sure the robbers would have drag it off or blow them up.

Anyway, I was having the idea that drive thru ATM may work in Malaysia with additional security in place. So my idea is to setup a room or capsule made tampered glass with safety tint  all around it, and the front and back contain a sliding door with the size acceptable for Malaysian car and not to forget CCTV as well.

How it works, well when the car approach the entry sliding glass door, the door the automatically open itself and once the car are completely got in (which can be measure thru laser) and using a floor pressure sensor it can detect the car is in the capsule and  the sliding door at its allowed maximum speed slides to close as this as to prevent crook sneak in behind their back.

Inside the capsule, it is attached with mirror in a position where the driver can see whether there are crooks hiding at the side or behind the vehicle.  At the given time (with display timer countdown) presume 2 minutes, the driver must insert the ATM card into the ATM machine if not it will assume the driver would like to cancel the transaction and want to leave due to security reason. OR with alternative the room is equipped with audio sensor where if the driver honk and the audio sensor (when it hit certain decibel) will trigger to open the front sliding door to the driver to escape.

IF all goes well the driver in the room withdrew his money and the money he took his card he has a time frame about 10 secs for him to wind up his windows and the front sliding door open for him to drive out.

I know this is freaking expensive but I think it is cool marketing for any BANK to promote safety to bank with them.

Punching Numbers

Sitting at home and nothing to do always make me open back all my banking statement and look at the numbers. And it seem after merely two year working in QP I don't have much saving as well and was wondering where are my money gone to. So I started adding all the number out debit from my statement although I can't really recall every spending that I did. So the total sum was pretty scary despite I am at Qatar yet I spend so much in Malaysia...... on average I spend about 5000 a month which I seriously don't really believe but then that's what the number shown. I guess I have too many bills and insurance to pay... Probably the next trip back I have reduce some of my liquidity and gain more tangible asset.

Forex

oh my. what happen to USD currency... it is now 1USD to RM2.9880 this is even lower than AUD. Man this is bad for Malaysian working at Qatar... it is about 22% lost each time to transfer our salary back home.......

Those thinking of coming to work at Qatar please take this as consideration as well. Every cent in the exchange rate make a lot of different.

Car Loan

Yay, I pay off my car loan at Qatar.. now I am debt free :)

IBQ TT

Recently the bank I am dealing with at Qatar, IBQ has a facelift on their banking account but not only that there are changes to their services too.

Last time transferring our salary would only cost QR15 and the rest is based on currency exchange rate which normally we will make a lost at 20% rate.. :( sucks right... so don't think I earn a lot OK?

But I notice something yesterday on their online banking site that now they have an option of us to choose MYR which I assume that our salary are directly convert from QR to MYR. Unlike last time there isn't MYR option and the safest choice is to choose USD because QR to USD are fixed at 3.65 and from there USD is converted to MYR based on Malaysia market rate.

And so not only the MYR option is available, I also saw that the currency rate stated in the website is 1 to 1 but I am not sure what is that rate applicable to. It is either for TT or cash exchange but I hope it is online TT so that we won't make a lost during currency conversion. But my worries is whether this rate is acknowledge by Malaysia bank as at this rate they won't make a profit which I doubt it will happen in banking industry.

Well, somehow we got to try it sometime and see how it is.. Adios

Nicorp 4464

Recently this counter at KLSE have gone crazy... the price was increase over 100%  and thanks to that my family make a some profit and got to escape  or let go this counter after holding it for around 4 years....

I hope my other "dead" counter does the same thing.. then I can sell it all off.. else my money are stuck with them....

Good and Bad about Qatar - Banking system

It is not easy to find a good customer service from any bank in Qatar and it all about your luck. So far I have bank with IBQ and everything is OK except on incident that they forgot about my credit card application and keep giving me excuse that doesn't make sense.

Apart from that their system are quite good. Online banking is OK. What I like is when you use your credit card, the moment the transaction is approved and immediately you will get an SMS. As I know this service should be free due to the country is rich :) Anyway this help you if you credit card has be clone and used by unauthorized person.

KLSE 1300 pts

Last 2 days there has been a slow down in KLSE... mainly because US bankers are having difficulty after President Obama put a strict rules on how they invest their money and also China plans to increase hire and purchase interest due to the blooming in the property fields....

But KLSE are still staying strong ... as today it close at 1300.45 points.. and that probably answer why the market is slowing down.. as US and China is pushing it down but the local company are pushing the index up....

Most ASIA country have a drop in their indices.. so as KLSE but the drop ain't that great.. and that make me thing make their isn't much foreign investment from US.. .. maybe... i don't know.. i am not economy expert but just a KULI trying to earn a decent living....

till then ciows

Amanah Saham

I guess you have been hearing about this since last week. Amanah Saham Malaysia and today Amanah Saham Wawasan 2020. This is actually a Government supported unit trust fund which is handle by PNB. I used to buy this many many years ago and then I couldn't top up the value as I always didn't get the chance..

So I plan to buy ASW2020 today, I went to office as early as possible, thinking of going to Maybank at Cyberjaya as there shouldn't be a lot of people. So I reach there around 850 to my surprise there is already a very long queue and we queue and waited until the Bank is open...

So to cut all the crappy story short, bank opened we queue some more to submit the form to open a new account, I waited for 2 hours then got to know they only process the 3rd person so I give up and walk off as I am super duper late for work.. lucky my boss was OK with it....

Well at the end I think lucky I didn't buy it as I could have use the money to invest on other stuff. So let it be.. let it be
