Makan Makan in Dubai - Din Tai Fung Mall of Emirates

Din Fai Fung just open a branch at Dubai Mall of Emirates 3 months ago. It is jam pack with peoples.

Food price slightly more expensive but taste is pretty ok.

The menu are almost the same as in Singapore or Malaysia except the obvious no pork.. but for a Chinese restaurant at middle east I would say this is considerably good and affordable

Tips in Qatar - MOI PCC

PCC = police clearance certificate also known as letter of good conduct.

The process is available at MOI website under CEID section.

Only thing I want to share is you get the letter is at the at the same place where fingerprint is done at salwa road branch.

RP Application with new employer

If you have left Qatar earlier due to resignation and didn't manage to find a new job to transfer your RP and then you found a new job sometime later. Then here are some guidelines to apply for your new RP under your new employer.

By right individual do not need to know this steps and your company PRO would help you to do this. By the way information posted here are best to my knowledge and you are required to clarify this information for more accurate / updated information.

1) get your offer letter.

2) have your company issue a work visa for you to come in. You need NOC from your previous company. Is a must.

3) get medical check up. This process your PRO will bring you to the authorized health center.

4) under certain circumstances you may required to see higher rank officer information gathering at Al Gharafa Immigration Department.

4) submit all documents include NOC. NOC need to be submitted at Gate 1 Al Gharafa Immigration Department.

5) if you have RP before then you need to get old fingerprint remove. How? Ermm not sure but it is at the fingerprint center at salwa road and the officer will guide you the process. There is a possibility they may ask you to see CEID  which is just behind the place you do fingerprint and open from 7 am to 12 pm. CEID will tell you if you have any problem or incomplete document. If you have everything ready unlikely you need to go CEID.

I'm not sure if I left any steps behind but this is just some guide I'm sharing and more likely to be more useful for PRO.

As these things are done by PRO. In the case you have no one follow up the status please follow up the status with the relevant personnel every now and then.

In a normal situation it shouldn't take more than a month to get your new qid.

Qatar changing of sponsorship

As many knows or read the local newspaper that the new sponsorship rules will be change soon.  In the mean time waiting for that to happen, you want to change a sponsot here are some guidelines. Please notes the information provided are based my own finding and may be incorrect as there maybe some changes is the rules or procedure that I may not know at the time of posting.

1) secure a job with offer letter

2) new employer noc

3) take both documents from step 1 and 2 to your current employer to ask for noc. Both noc must be in Arabic.

4) have your education certificate attested from the country it is issued. For example if your cert is from Singapore.
First have the copy of the  cert attested by Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs then attest again at Qatar embassy at Singapore then have the cert to deliver to Qatar and get it attested at  Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs  at West Bay

5) get police clearance certificate from the country you are from and get it attesed. Attesting police clearance differ from each country so please with your country embassy at Qatar.

5) have your company PRO to submit your application and wait for the outcome.

Finally.....bye bye Qatar

Finally I left Qatar.. and this is probably the last time I posting article about Qatar. Leaving Qatar was a pain not because the process is thrice as difficult when you are coming in.....

There are plenty of uneasy words I can say about the leaving process but as for now I decide just to leave it to myself and I can only say  leaving is hard and for those who are coming into Qatar, save the money you earn, don't get yourself into large financial commitment and try to avoid getting any loans from Qatar.

Things you must do

- Sign up for Metrash2 and ensure your mobile number is registered to your Qatar ID
- Never take large loans or never at all include car loan or company loan
- Never bounce cheque

Makan Makan in Qatar - Dapurku Berasap

This eatery place is relative new or I just got to know. Unlike Kak Ipah or Dapur Nora, the owner post their menu at Malaysians In Qatar group.  And so we went to try out today and I would say is cheap but for the taste it wasn't that great. It is better than Puti Bungsu but then Kak Ipah is still the best Malaysian food follow by Dapur Nora and Kafe Ole at Holiday Villa.

Makan Makan In Qatar - Dapor Nora

This place is having the same concept as Kak Ipah which along Salwa road.  Dapor Nora is located somewhere at Gharafa  and the same thing search for dapor Nora at FB to get more details about their menu and timing.

Makan Makan In Qatar - Kak Ipah

For Asians and especially Malaysian, you can get traditional Malay breakfast at Kak Ipah at Doha.

Kak Ipah is the name of the lady chef I assume. And on most Fridays she will sell Malaysian breakfast mainly Malay cuisine to all.

There is plenty of variety and the food taste just like home. I can't post everything here but what you can do is search kak ipah from Facebook to go to their fb page and they will update the page a day before whether they are operating on Friday as well as the menu. I suggest to go early around 8 and queue or try go around 930 to 10.

Missing picture from the blog

I made a mistake when I switch account for my blog as I want to maintain a single account and I deleted the previous account I used to compose all the post. But then I forgot to link all those picture from Picasa to this new account and now all the picture from the previous post is all gone. I will try to upload the pic as much as possible as there is too many post and some picture are no longer with me.

KLIA Bus Ride

I decided to use Aerobus from KLIA to Klang during my recent trip back to Malaysia.  The route of bus is from KLIA to KLIA2 and stops at Premier Hotel at Bukit Tinggi 1 Klang.

So below are the simple step to get to the bus stop and purchase your ticket

1) Exit from the arrival hall
2) Turn right and take the lift to the second floor (same floor of Food Garden)
3) Head to the exit to car park C and D
4) Once you reach the entrance to the car park there will be a lift. Go to ground floor
5) You will then see the ticketing counter once you exit the lift at the ground floor.

Tips in Qatar - E Gate

After so many years at Qatar I finally decided to get a E Gate. For many who don't know what it is.  Qatar  E Gate  is a smart ID card which allow citizens and residents to pass the passport control / immigration check by just insert the e gate card and scan their fingerprint.
Reason I was hesitated to get it much earlier is because I seldom travel and also thinking moving to the new airport the queue would be better but it is not. Is just the same and while queueing every now and then you have an annoying person bump into you and stick to you like a glue as of the airport running out of space. So to avoid this I decided to get e gate.
I been searching over the Web and so far getting so many of different info especially with the pricing. So here is the latest info I am sharing.
The place to do it the e gate card is a Gharafa. Is a building beside at the round about when you heading to QNCC.
You may click the link below for Google Map location
There is plenty of parking behind the building. Once you enter the building, go to building no 2. Pass the main entrance at ground floor and walk straight and on your right there will be a photo booth, show your Qatari ID to the person in charged and have your photo taken and fingerprint scanned. Then just across the photo booth there is a queue for you to get your number. Queue at the right lane. Tell the receptionist that you are making new e gate and you have taken your photo and fingerprint scanned.

Be seated and wait for your turn. As for me I waited less than 5 minutes. Once your number is called  go to the counter and tell the teller the same that you are making a new e gate and get your credit card ready. Sometime the lady may ask for ATM  card which also means your credit card. I ask for 3 years validity which is QR300. For  3 years renewal is QR200. Pay and the teller will ask you to be seated to wait for the card to be ready. Sit near to the counter so she or he can see you when your card is ready as they won't shout for your name.
Once you got your card go back to the entrance. There will be two kiosk machine. Over there you can check the card validity or activate the card. You may also check your E Gate validity at MOI website at this link
For renewal just queue to get the number and the rest follows.
Also to my surprise the staff over there are very friendly.  I'm very impressed

Money Transfer - TT

For most Malaysian working overseas that frequently transfer their salary back to Malaysia, I think it is good to keep those money or reinvest in the country you reside now until Q2 2015 or somewhere May / June timeframe.

I have read several reports that oil price are predicted to drop until 40 per barrel and that means USD will continue to rise + several factor that is happening back in Malaysia such as outflow of cash are weakening RM.
