Bought 2 xiaofang today to test it out how it is. As you can see, it came with usb cable and a charging adapter unlike some online site it is not included. Pretty much you get to know what it in the package from YouTube unboxing video.
So I just skip to the part of setup. The setup is the same as xiao yi smart home camera but I found it is much faster to pair the camera.
It is much faster to access the camera as well and when you accessed the camera it always show you the default view unlike xiao yi it will slightly zoom in.
The infrared or night vision is better. Much brighter. Understand it supports 64gb sd card which I have not try it out.
Most of the menu are in English. No issues updating the firmware. The design is nice and cute and best of all it have magnetic base.
I would say this is a good buy as the price seem to be cheaper than xiaoyi.
As for motion detection it does work but you can't sent the schedule. It have continuous recording as well as time lapse which I not sure what it is for .
Be aware that buying a house at HK is so much different from buying a house in Malaysia.
In Malaysia if you fail to obtain a loan for the house you bought within the stated time frame you can get back your deposit. This rules doesn't exist in HK and the agent and developers will not tell you this and they will suck up those deposit just like that and instantly get rich.
Daylight robbery.
Update
Found out in HK when you buy house you first sign a temporary agreement and pay your deposit and 5 days later the developer will ask you to sign the final agreement which you won't get back your deposit based on the law in HK. As for temporary agreement, the law didn't say you can't get back your deposit and getting back your deposit is a hassle you have to argue with your developer which most of the time they will not refund.
But in HK there is a government unit setup 3 years ago for first time house buyer to file a complaint to the developer for any dispute they may have or if the buyer found any discrepancy in the agreement.
The rule of thumb is. If the bank loan can't cover the purchase amount leave it. Don't rely on or even think about getting a loan from developer as it is trap
Xiaomi recently release a new camera call xiaofang aka little square which you may notice when you try to add a new camera at mi home apps you will see an entry there. 2 actually. Why? I explain later as the entry are in Chinese.
While doing my research I found out that ismartalarm also have the identical camera call spot and this increase my curiosity who actually designed this camera and who copy who?
Some said xiaomi copy ismartalarm and made it better with 1080 definition . There are also someone said ismartalarm bought the right to sell from xiaomi. Either way it doesn't really matters to me as long it can be use outside China.
One interesting fact I found that some claim that xiaomi Xiaofang can use with ismartalarm android app. But recent update of mi home app I notice that mi home also support ismartalarm camera this only proofs both cameras are the same.
So happy testing
