Resigning from a company here is not straight forward like Malaysia where you just hand over the love letter and that is it........there is a lot of process which take longer than your notice period.
1) One must have clear all their debts with anyone or any company. Example, car loan and credit card. Beware, I was told to cancel a credit card it will take minimum 45 days and what about if you have car loan and house loan? If you have a credit card, go lower your credit limit to the minimum before cancelation.
2) One must sell their car. Best is to clear off your car loan ASAP and just push the car to used car dealer and take the cash and leave!
3) One must make sure no one have grudge with you as your name and photo will be publish on newspaper like obituary to inform the whole Qatar that you are leaving the country for good and if they have anything want to take against you, they can call your company HR and then your exit permit will be delay.
4) One must cancel their VISA
5) For QP staff, need to go medical checkup
6) One must prepare how they going to receive their last pay check
7) One must keep follow up with HR to get your end of service benefit
8) if you have rental, make sure to get back all the post dated cheque.
9) cancel anything that have your name on such as mobile phone, home internet, kharamaa and get clerance letter from them.
Well this is all I have for now, although is not many but I know these process could take a while depends on individual. I will add and remove based on what I heard from others. You can take this as guide or just read this for some entertainment. :P.
I hold no legal responsibility for all the "info" that I have heard.
